BOC 2019

We are due to head north to Glasgow on Thursday the 19th of September to support our very own David Waring as he chairs his first BOC conference.  A weekend of CPD and social events is bound to provide us with plenty to talk about in the staff room over the next few weeks.  It’s all been plain sailing up to this point, the train tickets have arrived, the accommodation has been confirmed and taxi’s have been booked.  What could possibly go wrong?

Whilst up in Glasgow we will have 2 full days of continued professional development and trade stands.  I hope the reps have got freebies a plenty as I’m bringing a big bag! With some of the big names in the orthodontic world displaying their new innovations, I look forward to seeing where the industry can take us in 2020. Stay tuned for an update next week.

The digital era of orthodontics is rapidly descending on us, but can these fabulous ideas work in practice on a day to day basis?  How do the innovations swap out from traditional methods and does this reduce clinical time but increase admin time? What would the patient prefer the latest technology or time with the clinician?  So many questions, hopefully the BOC 2019 will have all the answers.

The social calendar is full too with a drinks reception on the Thursday night and Gala dinner on the Friday night, new outfits have been bought and are packed.  The delivery driver must be on over time the amount of packages he has dropped into the practice over the past few weeks. It’s an exciting time of the year within the practice as its one of the few opportunities we get to get dressed up and go out as a team, check out our Instagram stories to follow our adventure whilst at conference.
