Invisalign

All braces have a range of benefits and drawbacks so it’s easy to be unsure of which appliance to choose. Invisalign is a great option, which uses new technology to make aligners that are a perfect fit.

What are the benefits of choosing Invisalign?

Invisibility

Unlike most braces, Invisalign is made to discreetly align your teeth. Their Smart Tec Aligners are the most advanced in the field and will achieve amazing results; giving you a million dollar smile.

Flexible wear time

Each day, Invisalign should be worn for 22 hours. This gives 2 hours for you to eat, drink and brush your teeth. As long as you wear them for the hours, you can eat and drink whenever you want. If you forget to put your Invisalign aligners back in, then don’t worry, you will just need to make up the time the next day, however, we wouldn’t want this to be a regular occurrence as it may cause a delay in treatment if the full wear was not facilitated.

Clear treatment process

Before you start your Invisalign treatment process, you are able to see the progress made week-by-week. You can see a computer predicted image of this as well as the end result; these images are made by prescription from your specialist orthodontist and Invisalign technology. If you don’t like the end result, changes can be made to give the best possible smile.

Are there drawbacks to having Invisalign?

There aren’t many disadvantages to choosing Invisalign. These problems can be easily avoided if the aligners are cared for properly.

You shouldn’t eat or drink anything apart from cool water whilst wearing your Invisalign. If Invisalign is worn to eat and drink with, they will be vulnerable to breakage. When exposed to warm water, Invisalign will warp and when put in freezing cold water, it may be more susceptible to crack. So be careful when cleaning the aligners, follow the instructions given following the fit of your appliance to make sure correct maintenance of your appliance.

To work, Invisalign relies on the patient. Unlike metal braces that are fitted and then can be left for the duration of the treatment process (as long as they’re adjusted) to work their magic. Invisalign needs to be worn at all times when you are not eating or drinking. The straightening process can be interrupted if the patient doesn’t continue to wear their aligners.
