Can Crooked Teeth Be Fixed?
At Northenden House Orthodontics, many of our patients have crooked teeth and are keen on finding the right teeth straightening option for them. We offer a range of different orthodontic appliances that have an excellent history in aligning crooked teeth.
Crooked teeth, that are otherwise healthy, can be straightened at any age with orthodontic treatment. Our orthodontists will determine the right appliance for your case and use this brace to apply gentle, controlled pressure to the teeth to move them into better alignment. If orthodontic problems are caught early, an orthodontist may use other appliances that take advantage of the rapid growth that occurs just before puberty.
Can I have orthodontic treatment as an adult?
Adult orthodontic treatment is now more popular than ever with around one in five orthodontic patients being an adult. There are several types of orthodontic appliances that are particularly suited to adults, including Invisalign aligners, ceramic braces and lingual braces which allow adults a more discreet form of orthodontic treatment.
How long does treatment take?
Orthodontic treatment times can vary but usually fall within the range of six months to three years. After the full treatment, no matter which type of appliance was used, it is crucial to wear retainers as directed. Retainers help hold your teeth in their new positions and prevent them from moving back into their old arrangement. After all, you would not want your effort and investment in a beautiful smile to be wasted.
