Choosing Invisalign over ceramic braces
Invisalign is a clear tray aligner system that is fitted exactly over your teeth. They are completely transparent so your natural tooth colour is visible through them making them a brilliant cosmetic option.
The Invisalign aligners can be easily removed should you need to do public speaking and feel happier not having them in. As long as the aligners are worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day they allow you a little more freedom socially.
The aligners should be removed for eating so that no food is getting trapped around the brackets making cleaning a lot more manageable. Your cleaning routine would only require minimal adaptation to include cleaning the aligners.
Invisalign has also now been developed to deal with complex cases and can even be used prior to orthognathic surgery. The ever-advancing technology being developed from Invisalign can help manage open bites, close spaces and finesse tooth movement.
From the start of your treatment at Northenden House Orthodontics you will have the benefit of cutting-edge technology in the Orthodontic world. We will initially use our ‘Itero’ intra oral scanner to create a digital model of your teeth which can then be run through the Invisalign outcome simulator to give you an instant view of how your teeth could look following Invisalign treatment. Should you decide to proceed we can then submit this file to Invisalign along with a treatment prescription for them to start the process. This negates the use of the traditional impressions and is a lot more comfortable for the patient.
By using the digital system, it enables us to identify potential flaws in the model before your leave the surgery, we can repeat areas of the scan if necessary ensuring the records that are being submitted are of the highest quality.
Whether you are considering Invisalign or ceramic braces, don't hesitate to get in touch with us and book a consultation.
